AI Researchers: Porto partner meeting

AI Researchers partners meet in Porto to shape the AI Readiness Toolkit

On 22 and 23 September 2026, partners in the AI Researchers project met at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto (FEP U.Porto) in Portugal for a transnational partner meeting.

AI Researchers is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership in Higher Education. It addresses a practical question facing universities across Europe: how can academic supervisors and early career researchers use artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly, without lowering the standards that research depends on?

Momentum Marketing Services leads two areas of the project: the development of the AI Readiness Toolkit and the project’s dissemination and communication.

A toolkit built around real research tasks

The main focus of the meeting was the AI Readiness Toolkit. The toolkit is organised around six tasks that researchers carry out every day, rather than around individual AI tools:

  1. Literature review and synthesis
  2. Structured drafting and reporting
  3. Data preparation and content analysis
  4. Academic writing
  5. Paper presentations
  6. Peer review and refereeing

Partner universities have contributed eighteen practical items across these six areas, including case studies, templates, workshop plans, slides, a peer-led discussion format and a video testimonial. Each item shows where AI can support a task and where human judgement must remain in charge.

Momentum presented the plan for bringing this material together in two parts: a designed guide that introduces each use case, and an online resource hub on the project website where every item is presented in the same clear format.

Quality before publication

Before publication, the toolkit will be reviewed by senior academics, coordinated by the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU). This makes sure every item is accurate, useful and ready for supervisors to use.

Reaching the people who need it

In the dissemination session, Momentum reviewed progress on the project’s communication activities and set out next steps, including a monthly article series on airesearchers.eu written by partners and based on project outputs.
