In 2025, we began working intensively on Work Package 2 (WP2), which is building the project’s evidence base. At our partner meeting on 12th January 2026, we discussed the design of our WP2 research in detail, including the survey and focus group approach we will use to explore real-world barriers and drivers for AI adoption in research settings.
This work will help us understand what supervisors and institutional leaders need in order to use AI confidently and responsibly, while protecting research quality, integrity and trust.
The findings from WP2 will feed directly into practical project outputs, including an AI Engagement Framework and an AI Readiness Toolkit, with resources that departments and doctoral training and researcher development teams can implement.
