On March 10th, the lead partner, University of Lodz, hosted our first in-person AI Researchers consortium meeting in Warsaw. It brought together seven partners from across Europe to advance our shared mission: embedding responsible AI in research across higher education.
During the meeting and workshop at the National Information Processing Institute (OPI PIB Ośrodek Przetwarzania Informacji – Państwowy Instytut Badawczy), partners discussed early findings from research surveys and focus groups exploring barriers to AI adoption in academic research and co-designed strategies to support responsible AI adoption among academic supervisors and early-career researchers.
The discussions help shape the next steps, which are to develop:
✔️ AI Engagement Framework and
✔️AI Readiness Toolkit for universities.
The meeting gathered experts and researchers from across our consortium, including: University of Lodz, Wydział Zarządzania Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego (Poland) UPF Barcelona School of Management (Spain) Universidade do Porto (Portugal), the National Information Processing Institute (Poland) Momentum Educate + Innovate (Ireland) ACEEU (Germany) and (European E-Learning Institute (Denmark)
A big thank you to all partners for the inspiring discussions and collaborative spirit. The next consortium meeting will take place in Porto later this year.
